The Wine Advocate June 2003

Robert M Parker Jr. GREAT VALUES FOR UNDER $ 20, Chateau de Combebelle 2000 St Chinian Greanche / Syrah 90 points.
“An outstanding example for that somewhat forgotton St Chinian appellation, this 2000 grenache / syrahs inky / ruby / purple colour is accompanied by a big sweet nose of expresso roast, chocolate, black cherries and currants. Medium bodied, with moderate tannin, good density and a long persistant finish, it will improve over the next several years, and drink well for 5-6.”

Wine Spectator December 2003

Ch Combebelle Cuvee Orion St Chinian 2000
“Big and rich, with mouth-coating flavours of blackberry, dark plum and spice. This a full-bodied and ripe, with lovely dark choclate and expresso notes, which broadens out with fine tannins on the finish.Impressive for the appellation.”
